This might have boosted Rafa as this would avoid his quarter Final clash with World No. 1 Novak Djokovic. But draws suggest that Nole cannot be avoided for too long as Rafa and Nole are place in same half.

Nine time champion Rafael Nadal and World No. 1 Novak Djokovic are placed in same half which means they both will set up semis clash at this years Roland Garros. Nadal who is looking for his tenth Roland Garros championship has tough task on hand. With Sam Groth in first round, R2 Bagnis or Qualy, R3 Sousa/Fognini, R4 Thiem, QF Tsonga, SF Djokovic, F Murray; such is the road for King of Clay to get to his record tenth RG. While Novak who has been one step away from being French champion three times will be looking to finish the job this time. He can be first man after Rod Lever to achieve the feat of holding all grandslams at same time.
World Number 2, Andy Murray has been placed in bottom half with defending champion Stan Wawrinka. He is favourite to be one of the finalist for this year. With a win in Rome Masters over Novak might have uplifted Murray’s confidence. But the road to finals is tricky. He faces Radek Stepanek who has qualified from qualifiers. He also has possible clashes with Nishikori in quarters.
