Indian Wrestler Sushil Kumar’s Rio Olympic dream over as Delhi HC dismisses his plea- Delhi high court has stunned all Indians by refuting the plea by legendary wrestler Sushil Kumar. His plea peered selection trial in 74 kg freestyle category at Rio Olympics has been dismissed by HC at national capital of India. As Wrestling Federation of India has confirmed Narsingh Yadav as an Olympic contender from the country.
Court has been advised not to intervene in the decision finalized by WFI. Two time gold medalist, Shushil Kumar hasn’t played a single match in 74 kg category and wanted to fight this time’s competition in that category. Justice Manmohan led bench has unveiled about this astounding declaration.
Narsingh attempted to strengthen his side by explaining that in last year’s World Championship, he had secured 74 kg quota by achieving bronze medal. This action has been missed by Sushil since 2004 when he won gold medal in same category in Commonwealth Games and hence he’s urging that the chance of representing India’s wrestling talent should lie in favor of him.
This selection decision by WFI has sent shockwaves across every nook and corner of the country. All Shushil fans might have been depressed with immense nervousness and might be wishing hard of seeing their ideal wrestler to get approved by the selectors.
