PV Sindhu win away from guaranteeing a medal for India at Rio: India’s PV Sindhu defeated World No.2 of China to reach the 2016 Rio Games semis. Sindhu has just one win to go to secure a medal for India in Badminton in the Rio Olympics 2016.

Sindhu next match is against Japan’s Nozomi Okuhara This match is scheduled to be held on Thursday.

Sindhu quashed the semifinals of the women’s singles badminton event at Rio Olympics. Her winning scores were as follows:22-20, 21-19 These amazing scores secured her a win over World No.2 Wang Yihan of China.

The ace badminton player showed expertise and awe-insipiring talent in the semifinals match against the World seed no.2.  PV Sindhu’s game was applauded and she proved that a good defence can prove to be an amazing offence.

In the Denmark Open last year, Sindhu had defeated Wang for the first time making the news, and this time, she smashed the game against China’s Wang in the Rio Olympics 2016 Badminton semis event.

Sindhu is India’s badminton star in the Olympics 2016 at Rio, with two World Championship bronze medals in her pocket already. Wang Yihan, the World’s No.2 has won a silver medal and made China proud in the London Games. P.V. Sindhu of India smashed the game with few unique tricks up her sleeve and won over the London Games silver medalist.

Commentators as well as the audience applauded Sindhu’s cross court returns with which she made her mark in the Rio Olympics 2016. She will now play in the Semi-finals.

“It could have been anybody’s game. I knew I would not get any easy points. I am taking one match at a time, rather than thinking of a medal. This was one of my memorable wins against Yihan. Hopefully there will be many more,” Sindhu said.
