Indian Athletes aim for medal on Day 1 of Rio Olympics 2016: As the Rio Olympics 2016 officially opened yesterday with a ceremony of grandeur, glamour and fireworks, the biggest Indian contingent entered the stadium among the loud cheer and thuds of the massive audience. This marked the kickoff the much awaited sports feat of the season, Rio 2016.
India has much to look forward to in this year’s Olympic games, as it sends the biggest Indian contingent of all time, to the games in Rio de Janerio, Brazil. The Indian contingent comprises of some stalwarts like Olympic Gold Medalist Abhinav Bindra while many new entrants in various team as well as individual events have brought high hopes to the country of a better, brighter and bigger medal tally at the Rio Olympics 2016.
