Zimbabwe sack Dav Whatmore as head coach- With, only less than two weeks remaining to go for India’s tour to Zimbabwe, So, the Zimbabwe cricket on Tuesday, 31st of May 2016 sacked their head coach Dav Whatmore. According to the officials, this decision was taken after going through a review of senior men’s performance in the recently concluded ICC World Cup T20 2016 in India. In that campaign Zimbabwe side failed to qualify for main draw of the t20 tournament as Afghanistan piped them with three victories and reached to play with already qualified teams in super ten stages.

Bowling Coach Makhaya Ntini will take over the charge as an interim coach from the Australian Dav Australian Whatmore, who was handed a four year contract in April last year. Whereas, on the other hand, the team management of Zimbabwe have also relieved their national team’s skipper Hamilton Masakadza of leadership duties across all formats, so now all the duties will be handed over to the Graeme Creamer,ahead of their limited over series starting on 11th June 2016 against India.
So, making some more changes to their rank, Zimbabwe Cricket have appointed another South African all rounder named, Lance Klusner as batting coach for next two years. And the former Zimbabwe captain, Tatenda Taibu, as a new convener of a revamped selection panel committee which will include a new senior men’s national team coach and his assistant. Zimbabwe Cricket team will play India in three One Day Internationals as well as two Twenty20 International games, which will be commencing on June 11, 2016 at the Harare Sports Club.
