Parthiv Patel picked up as a replacement for Wriddhiman Saha for Third Test – After a gap of eight years, 31 years old wicketkeeper, Parthiv Patel is set to make a comeback in Indian cricket team. Parthiv Patel will make his comeback in the side this Saturday when India take on England in third Test.
BCCI medical team on Tuesday confirmed that current wicketkeeper Wriddhiman Saha had developed a strain in his left thigh during the 2nd Test versus England. As per reports, Saha has been advised to rest as a precaution measure.Instead, Parthiv Patel will make a comeback.
Parthiv Patel who made a Test debut way back in 2002 against England is the youngest wicketkeeper in Test history to make International test debut. With an average of 29.69, left-hander has scored 689 runs which includes 4 half centuries. His last international appearance was in 2012 against Sri Lanka. Left Hander has been in good touch recently with 415 runs at an average of approx 60 including a centuary and 3 fifties.
