India failed to win the Fourth Test match against West Indies by a big margin. Pakistan’s Test series against England resulted a 2-2 draw, whereas Sri Lanka VS Australia scored a 3-0.These circumstances helped Pakistan to achieve a remarkable top rank for the first time.Pakistan’s endeavor to achieve the same was remarkable too.

“There is no greater feeling than to achieve the No. 1 ranking in the most traditional and purest format of the sport” was what the Pakistani skipper Misbah-ul-Haq, Pakistan’s captain for past six years commented after the grand success. He shall also soon be given the ICC Test Championship Mace in order to mark and establish the top rank. For a country who hasn’t played a Test since 2009 and has still made it to the top is definitely such a unique achievement.

“This is what cricketers want to achieve. No 1 ranking is a reward for something we had planned as a group a few years ago and have worked extremely hard to achieve it. To top the Test table is something to be very proud of.” Misbah-ul-Haq continued. He also gave his heartiest compliments and thanked all the beings who supported in this process including the players, the support personnel, the management and all the loyal fans as well.

Misbah-ul-Haq mentions that the No 1 rank was not their destination but the part of their journey and states their long term objective to be competitive and continue to sustain the challenges by winning like the Pakistan teams of past years.
