Plans of Hosting of Mini IPL in the USA might be waived off due to busy scheduled of some of the key players and also the broadcasters don’t have space to rearrange tournament timings. T20 matches are preferred to attract the audiences in the US and the matches have to be started by around 10 am local time. But with these timings, it will become probably quite difficult to catch the big crowds during mid-week matches.

The hurdle into this mini IPL proceeding was confirmed by the BCCI President Anurag Thakur who raised major concerns about the time difference between the two countries India and US. People in India enjoy IPL matches between 7 pm to 11 pm and in order to pair the timings matches have to be played somewhere in the east coast (USA). The matches need to be played during daytime in the host country so that it can be enjoyed during night hours in India. This would affect majorly of losing the home fans by playing outside the country. UAE was another country which was shortlisted ahead of US to play Mini IPL to be scheduled this month.

Thakur also added that IPL tournament was going nowhere and we are not thinking of hosting it in any other country apart from India. It has to be hosted in India, but we have many options which can be planned and executed with the long term plan for this market. So between the two preferred venues UAE and US, UAE seem to be a more compatible option for mini IPL which can be watched and enjoyed by Indian viewers more conveniently with less time difference. So with this news, it gets more confirmed that the Mini IPL will not take place in US this year.
