Mignon du Preez steps down as Captain of South Africa- The South African Batswomen Mignon Du Preez had given up Captaincy and is focusing more on her game now as she had stepped down with all formats. Now the Team will lead by 23 year old new captain Dane Van Niekerk. Du Preez confessed in an interview that she is satisfied with the decision it was difficult but it all went through a systematic research and she found it best to move forward which will be beneficial for both the team and herself.

She also Thanked the Cricket Council of South Africa who shown there trust on her for last 5 years and given her the responsibility of being the captain of Women’s National Team she also showed her gratitude to her team mates that they all managed and helped her to take the team together and were all supportive and adjusting one. She also Congratulated Dane Van Niekerk for joining the team as the new captain and she is the right one to be the next and she wished her great success in future. Mignon du Preez lead her team very 1st time in 2014 Women’s World T20 Semi Final and he is also recoreded as the 1st Women to defeat India and Bangladesh in international in one day Series She had led team in 46 ODI’s 50 T20’s and one Test.On the Other Side the very new captain is cherishing her selection for being the new captain of the ream and termed it as a big honor to herself and for her future as she always dreamed to be one and that’s why she started playing cricket and she thanked Mignon du Preez for congratulating her and giving her the chance.Both Van Niekerk and Du Preez were awarded with National contract for coming seasons.
