Lodha panel looking for transparency in IPL TV rights bidding process- The Lodha Panel which was granted to work and make intervention in work of Board Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) is finding and making objection in each and every topic which they feels is not right as they have to work with BCCI for the coming 6 months to make is a proper and systematic unit. While as per the current reports Lodha Panel is against the TV right process of the BCCI.
As IPL is most famous league of India and ranked among world’s top leagues. So many sponsors are ready to buy its rights as per Lodha panel BCCI is giving Sony Entertainments media rights due to private Negotiations which is being in objection list of the Lodha Panel. The Panel want an Transparent Bidding Process to make the scale of corruption lesser and make all the systems clear. The Lodha Panel said to invite more bidders and have a bidding session.
As per the source of TOI the Lodha panel mentioned on 28th July that they SC had the order to make the process transparent and engage more players in bidding process. As during the tenure of Lalit Modi the directorate finds the payment of 425 crore as Facilitation fee which is all wrong practice.
The BCCI and Sony have a deal of “first right of refusal” and the all agreement is made of the money. If the broadcaster fail to agree the sum mentioned by the board then there will be fresh bidding tenders Which will be discuss in the meeting by Lodha on August 9.While Lodha Panel is in recommendation of the fresh bidding for IPL process of TV rights and then Sony should be given chance to code there favorable bid while the BCCI official mentioned they will discuss this in SGM meeting.
