ICC declares same set of elite panel of umpires for 2016-17 –A set of unchanged elite panel of twelve umpires has been publicized by International Cricket Council on Wednesday, 8th June 2016. Four English and three Australian men cover the major part of the panel. Rest five umpires belong to New Zealand, South Africa, Sri Lanka, India and Pakistan. The chairperson of umpire selection panel Geoff Allardice has praised the work of these men in last year.
In year 2015-16, the same panel of umpires has maintained their good performance till the end of year. According to the reports, this group of refrees has got huge likes for their accuracy in making decisions in most of the matches. In 2014-15 year, correct decision percentage by these umpires has ranged between 94-96% which confirmed their selection for next year.
Audiences as well as the ICC members are gratified with the performance of these men and hence willed to continue these persons for the upcoming cricket matches. Selectors noticed the incrementing level of performance of them and came to conclusion that there’s not any problem in maintaining this herd for the further cricket matches in all formats.
