After giving blaze performances in the ninth season of Indian Premier League 2016, Indian cricket team players will now commence the exhausting yet thrilling season by locking horns against Zimbabwe and West Indies. The Board of Control for Cricket in India selectors will hold a meeting on Monday, 23rd of May 2016 to announce the Indian squad for Zimbabwe series and the West Indies tour. So, the national team is scheduled to play a series consisting of 3 ODI and also three T20 Internationals against Zimbabwe side, which will be beginning on 11th June, before moving to the Caribbean Islands for a 4 Test series in the month of July-August, but still the schedule of which is yet to be announced.

As, the selectors are expected to announced a full strength ranks for test series which is to be held in West Indies, so, the plenty of changes expected against Zimbabwe series. As, amount of cricket, which has been played over the last couple of months, it is expected that some senior players are set to be rested for the upcoming Zimbabwe tour. So, the star cricketers such as Virat Kohli, Shikhar Dhawan, and Rohit Sharma may not feature during this series of Zimbabwe. Hence, young faces such as Shreyas Iyer, Karun Nair & Krunal Pandya might get a chance to represent Indian side, as giving them a wonderful opportunity to shine & also impress the selectors. So, these consistent 2016’s IPL tournament young talented performers have a good chance to feature in the squad of India.
However, it is not yet confirmed that Indian Skipper MS Dhoni will be available for this series, if he does not feature in the squad, then Ajinkya Rahane, who also led India in their last tour of Zimbabwe, will most likely be handed the captain’s role once again for this upcoming tour. Also it is expected that in the absence of MS Dhoni , Wriddhiman Saha might find himself in the squad as the wicket-keeper batsman. After IPL 9 gets over, as senior cricketers will have more than a complete month to rest, so that they prepare fresh for the Test series against Caribbean team where Virat Kohli will lead the Indian team with inclusion of many experienced players in the squad.
