Anderson replaces Broad To Become No. 1 Test Bowler- Another feather into the caps of the England’s bowling squad where James Michael Anderson popularly known as Jimmy Anderson has top the list of Test Bowler ranking as the no .1 bowler replacing his team mate Stuart Board. The 33 year old outclassed the other pacers thereby grabbing a record figure of 8-94 registering a successive second Test Win against Sri Lanka.
He has surpassed his 450 test career wickets which crowned him as the leading test wicket taker for his side. Anderson named Man of the Match for his blazing performance which gave England an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three test series tournament. He has already 18 wickets from the two tests matches and the lords will be the next venture to be scheduled in the coming week. He jumped from the two places in the ICC Test Rankings replacing board who is now placed at third position down to Indian spinner Ravi Chandran Ashwin.
With this top spot he became the fourth England bowler to be named as the top in the test rankings after legendary Ian Botham in 1980 and Steve Harmison in 2004.Thus it once again proved that England Bowlers are formidable and well balanced especially in the Test Cricket format.
