PV Sindhu to get Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award- Indian government felicitates with remarkable rewards to the Indian Rio Athletes for their spirit and appealing performances in the Olympic Games.
The highest sporting honour that is the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award is been received by PV Sindhu by the Indian Government.The shuttler PV Sindhu is the first Indian women athlete to reach the finals and win a silver medal in the Olympic games.This is something every Indian should boast about.A large number of nominations had been sent for this award and the proud Sindhu has marked her name on it selected by the selection committee.
PV Sindhu coming from Hyderabad played extremely well against the top-ranked opponents always making India proud with her efforts and spirit. She closed each of her matches with style. Though she couldn’t crack the finals,she fought with tireless efforts to crack her own records.
PV Sindhu’s proud coach Pullela Gopichand says “PV Sindhu hasn’t shown the world her best.”According to Pullela, the 21-year-old Sindhu is yet to showcase the world her complete set of capabilities. She is the youngest medalist.”The world still hasn’t seen the best of Sindhu. When she becomes what I see in her now, she will be head and shoulders above the rest in the world,” Gopichand told the media at his academy in Hyderabad.
The tough fought match with Marin Carolina in the women’s badminton finals made Sindhu a winner for which she won a million hearts.”We were lucky that we were all staying in the same flat. There was no outside interaction and it helped us plan the whole thing to perfection,”Gopi mentioned.” I am very thankful to my parents because they have done a lot for me.Gopi sir also believed in me and we decided to take it one match at a time.” Sindhu mentioned.She said that throughout the campaign, she never thought of the medal but insisted she believed in herself to deliver.

Sindhu and Gopichand landed in India today and they received a grand welcome by the Telengana Government at the Gachibowli Stadium. Telangana Deputy Chief Minister promises additional coach for PV Sindhu.
